On a certain day in 2019, somewhere in Tokyo, auditions are being held for a a new idol group. From among the great many girls who tried out, three are chosen: Rui Nikaidо, Shiho Ichimura and Yuki Mitsuya. The group is named Mystery Kiss. Each of the girls has her own dream, and they spend many days training as they work towards their debut.

However, the hit-making producer brought in to create their music seems chronically unmotivated, and a disturbing anonymous social media account starts posting information only the girls should know. Although they are supposed to be in this together, working towards the same goal, the three of them slowly drift out of sync.

A lone girl watches them: Sakura Wadagaki, who failed the audition. She has a dream too, one she won't give up on...
