"Ashita no Nadja" celebrates the 20th anniversary of its anime adaptation with a Blu-ray box set release!
"Ashita no Nadja," an original shojo anime produced by Toei Animation that aired for one year starting February 2003, is getting a Blu-ray box release containing all 50 episodes!
This long-running historical anime, set in early 20th century Europe, follows protagonist Nadja on a journey that encapsulate the philosophies of love and parent-child relationships of the time. The background music by Keiichi Oku won acclaim not only in Japan but overseas as well, and in 2009, years after the show ended, it was chosen for the JASRAC International Award.
It featured an opening theme song by the late singer and actress Minako Honda, and an ending theme song by protagonist Nadja voice actress Ami Koshimizu.
≪Summary≫
This is the story of a girl who stepped through the door of destiny... About a century ago today... Nadja, a young girl living at the Applefield Orphanage in England, is about to celebrate her 13th birthday. One day, she learns that her mother is actually alive. In order to set out to find her mother, she joins a band of traveling performers called the Dandelion Troupe - and the door of destiny opens!!
