Meanwhile, on the planet Meguriboshi, floating in space, a mediation ceremony is about to take place to end a long-standing war between nations over the energy resource known as Hoshichi.

Without warning, a massive piece of orbital debris begins falling toward the planet. Vigo of the Pullguard Unit desperately attempts to stop it. To rescue him, robot mechanic Laco launches in a machine that is still under maintenance. She succeeds in redirecting the debris into the sea, but her machine is severely damaged, and she loses consciousness.
