With Tetsuya Nakamura as Character Designer and Key Animation Artist, Kusarihime’s art style blends cuteness with unease—sometimes comical, sometimes immoral and brutal—and it sometimes leads to endings so shocking you’ll want to look away. The soundtrack that supported this haunting story had long remained unavailable in audio format. Now, 25 years later, it is finally being released as a standalone album for the first time. Its delicate melodies quietly ask: how many times have you played as Itsuki? Or will you paint the world red as Kurame?
