How did this young boy become notorious thief Lupin III?

Since it began in 1967 Monkey Punch’s Lupin the Third was a global smash hit that made appearances in all different types of media. Even though he is known as the world's greatest thief, even this man of mystery was once a young and inexperienced boy.

LUPIN ZERO depicts the humble beginnings which until now have been shrouded in mystery. The story takes place in 1960 during a rapid period of economic growth in Japan. Here a Lupin encounters a crafty villain, his father Lupin II and his grandfather Lupin I. This is when he also will meet his future partner Jigen.

Production studio, Telecom Animation Film Co., Ltd., (which have released previous Lupin the 3rd titles) will once again be in charge of the animation for the series, which will feature a retro and unique art style that brings the past to the modern age. Music for the show will be written by Yoshihide Otomo (Ama Chan, INU-OH), with arrangements of Takeo Yamashita. With ending theme sung by Tavito Nanao
